Reconstitution Guide
Step-by-step instructions for mixing your peptides safely
Important Safety Notice
Always use sterile technique. Contaminated peptides can cause serious infections. If you're unsure about any step, consult a healthcare professional.
Gather Supplies
Collect all necessary items before starting
- •Peptide vial (lyophilized powder)
- •Bacteriostatic water (BAC water)
- •Alcohol swabs
- •Sterile syringe (1-3ml)
- •Insulin syringe for dosing
- •Clean workspace
Tip: Never use regular water - always use bacteriostatic water for peptides you plan to store.
Clean Vial Tops
Sanitize both vial tops with alcohol
- •Wipe the peptide vial rubber stopper
- •Wipe the BAC water vial stopper
- •Allow to air dry for 10-15 seconds
- •Do not blow on or touch the cleaned surfaces
Tip: This step is critical for preventing contamination and infection.
Draw BAC Water
Withdraw the desired amount of bacteriostatic water
- •Remove syringe cap and pull back plunger to desired volume
- •Insert needle into BAC water vial
- •Push air into vial (creates positive pressure)
- •Invert vial and draw out the water
- •Remove any air bubbles
Tip: Common amounts: 1ml, 2ml, or 2.5ml depending on desired concentration.
Add Water to Peptide
Carefully inject water into the peptide vial
- •Insert needle into peptide vial at an angle
- •Aim the stream at the glass wall, NOT directly on the powder
- •Slowly release the water, letting it run down the side
- •Do not spray or squirt forcefully
Tip: Direct force on the powder can damage the peptide structure. Always be gentle.
Mix Gently
Allow the peptide to dissolve completely
- •Let the vial sit for 1-2 minutes
- •Gently roll the vial between your palms
- •NEVER shake the vial vigorously
- •Wait until solution is completely clear
- •Some peptides may take 5-10 minutes to fully dissolve
Tip: Shaking can denature (destroy) the peptide. Patience is key.
Label and Store
Properly label and refrigerate your reconstituted peptide
- •Write the reconstitution date on the vial
- •Note the concentration (e.g., "2.5mg/ml")
- •Store in refrigerator at 2-8°C (36-46°F)
- •Keep away from light
- •Use within 4-6 weeks
Tip: Reconstituted peptides are fragile. Never freeze and avoid temperature fluctuations.
Storage Guidelines
Unreconstituted (Powder)
- • Store in freezer for long-term (-20°C)
- • Refrigerator for short-term (2-8°C)
- • Keep away from light
- • Stable for 1-2 years if stored properly
Reconstituted (Mixed)
- • Refrigerate at 2-8°C (36-46°F)
- • NEVER freeze reconstituted peptides
- • Use within 4-6 weeks
- • Discard if cloudy or discolored
Common Reconstitution Ratios
| Vial Size | BAC Water | Concentration | 100mcg = | 250mcg = |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2mg | 2ml | 1000 mcg/ml | 0.10ml | 0.25ml |
| 5mg | 2ml | 2500 mcg/ml | 0.04ml | 0.10ml |
| 5mg | 2.5ml | 2000 mcg/ml | 0.05ml | 0.13ml |
| 10mg | 2ml | 5000 mcg/ml | 0.02ml | 0.05ml |
